DEEPEN YOUR PRACTICE:
A 3 PART INTENSIVE FOR YOGA PRACTITIONERS & TEACHERS
WITH BROOKE & LOTSIE
Join Lotsie and Brooke for an opportunity to delve into the teachings of Yoga in both an educational and experiential way. They will offer three modules over three weekends that include The 5 Elements and Subtle Body, Gods and Goddesses, and Anatomy and Asana. Each weekend will include comprehensive and accessible teachings that both teachers are deeply passionate about sharing. The weekends will also be about creating community within the intimate group and we will host a potluck each Sunday of the module.
Weekend 1: 5 Elements, Yin & The Subtle Body
September 30-October 2
The external is a reflection of the internal . With our insides strong, and when energy is able to flow freely, we experience harmony as well as balance. We experience a centeredness in both body and mind. This module will focus on the internal geography of our being. Themes to be studied include:
Traditional Chinese Medicine and the 12 traditional meridians of the body
The Five Elements and how to embody them
Acupressure and the integration there of into your teaching
Thai Yoga Massage (covid dependent)
An Intro to Yin Yoga and how to apply the 5 Elements to your sequencing and/or personal practice
Weekend 2: Gods & Goddesses:
Join Brooke in the richness of developing a relationship among the Gods and Goddesses of Yogic Mythology. We will spend our time together learning about the three main Gods and Goddesses (consorts/beloveds) through lecture, asana, mantra and meditation. Take away how to create a personal ritual in drawing in these forgotten energies into your everyday routines.
What you can expect:
An understanding of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva as well as their consorts Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga
Learn how to build an altar to uphold each of their energies and discover how to make meditation more sacred
Walk away with tools to sequence using the energies of the Gods and Goddesses to create a full body experience for your student
Weekend 3: Advanced Asana & Anatomy
March 31-April 2, 2023
Learn how to build Agni (fire in the body) to help discover how to embody and teach all the layers of complexity in postures such as arm balances and inversions. We will thoroughly break each posture down anatomically and will add layers of depth including how to sequence to each of the postures as a peak pose. During this module, learn how to sequence classes to create a full bodied experience for your student. Along with postures and sequencing, we will also gain skills in how to effectively lead Pranayama (breath control/restrain exercises). Learn functional anatomy and how it specifically applies to yoga postures and class sequencing. Embody the practice with tools such as balls, blocks, straps, therabands and more. Use these tools to create smart and sustainable sequences and cues.
All 3 weekends:
